I find it beautiful if shapes, so to speak, 'grow' when I edit the material or take it out of its original context. I like to recycle, re-use old materials, and that's why I often choose everyday materials. Arts and crafts have my attention and I'm fascinated by flexible materials and  I work from intuïtion, passion and ethusiasm. No awards for me, but I was nominated for a Dutch Design Award for my scarf "BULB".

Dutch-born designer Sasja Saptenno provides accessories like jewelry and shawls. She likes to experiment specially with used, common, flexible materials and traditional crafts. A graduate in visual arts, textiles and fashion, she has written and lectured about her processes in venues in The Netherlands, including the annual course for the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden and the Dutch Textile Museum.

In 2003 Saptenno was nominated for Best Product Design by the Vormgevingsprijs Friesland.
